GARDEN DESIGN SERVICES

South Hams Garden Design offers a flexible range of garden design services to enable us to help all types of potential client regardless of the client’s level of gardening knowledge, aptitude, interest or budget.

Our services range from short, focussed 2 hour design consultations to provide the inspiration and the impetus required to get your project started (for a low fixed fee) through to complete design services (incl producing scaled technical plans, perspective drawings, setting out plans etc). We can also recommend local contractors to allow you to implement our designs and can project manage the subsequent construction and planting phases if required.

For most clients, the technical Concept Design plans produced as part of the Outline Design service are sufficient to allow your new garden to be constructed, particularly for small/medium sized gardens or where you are able to project manage the works yourself.

We can also produce garden maintenance plans and undertake other ad-hoc consultancy for discrete tasks if required.

2 Hour Garden Design Consultation

Our most popular service comprising a dedicated 2-hour session with a qualified garden designer. The expert advice and design input provided in this focussed session often pays for itself through recommendations of local nurseries and suppliers.

Outline Design

Formal design process involving a site visit, detailed site survey and production of technical plans for a new Concept Design drawn to a professional standard and to scale.

Full Detailed Design

This includes all of the activities in the Outline Design along with more detailed documentation to allow all aspects of the design to be taken forward by the client’s chosen garden contractor (builder or landscaping contractor). Most appropriate for larger/complex gardens.

Costs & Budgets

As a small local business, we aim to be affordable with a clear fee structure which is based on guidance from the Society of Garden Designers. We will always outline our fees in writing in advance for your agreement prior to any work commencing.
